Pop Sugar $10 off code!

Hey everyone! Pop Sugar Must Have is a new Monthly subscription, and while on the pricey side ($35) It's something I think is definitely worth it. Here is what was given in last months box:

I'm extremely impressed that their members received a theBlam Makeup Set, Two movie tickets and the Perks of the Wallflower book, and an $85 Scarf.

I signed up immediately after seeing this box! You can still sign up for the November box here with the $10 off promo "OPRAH."  Which means it must have been featured by Oprah at some point?

Anyways I just joined and I'm excited to see what's in the next box!

The Look Bag is Back! October 2012

The Look Bag took a hiatus over the Summer to get some kinks worked out, but now they're back and with a 25% off code (the code is TLB) off of your first bag. It now costs $12.95 (it used to cost $12). While these are not all products i'm necessarily interested in or going to use, i'm very happy with the variety and the 4 full size products.

So for a little over $9 this is what I got:

FULL SIZE York Peppermint Pattie Lip Balm SPF15 - Value = $3.00
- I probably won't be using this, it's a sunscreen balm (which means it won't be very moisturizing) and it smells like sugar instead of peppermint.

FULL SIZE Stila Mineral Matte Eye Shadow in Sajama. Value = $18.00
-I'll probably try to find someone to swap this with, I don't really wear dark eyeshadows
1 oz. Freeman Bare Foot Cucumber, melon and ginseng lathering body wash. Value = $0.72
FULL SIZE Pixi Lip and Line Primer in nearly clear. Value = $18.00
- I don't really do lip colors...but I'll use it for when I do, since I do get annoyed how quickly the color comes off. Let's see if this helps!

FULL SIZE POP Beauty crackle nail polish. Value = $10.00
- While i'm excited about this, I wish I would have ordered my bag a couple of weeks earlier because I had JUST bought Julep's black crackle for 4.99. SIGH Oh well. At least now I get to try out a new brand.
Total value - $49.72

Like I said, I'm pretty excited about this bag even though there's nothing i'm super excited about. But I can use most of it and compared to my last five months of Birchbox this is a dream come true!

Birchbox - October 2012

Hey everyone, it's been a LONG time since i've posted. I was out of the country for a few months but now I'm back and all resubbed to my monthly subs! I did resub to Sample Society, only two cancel again after 2 boxes (it just wasn't doing it for me at $17 a pop).

Birchbox is $10 a month - and a LOT of people got a full size Essie Polish! This month there was the option to get either a Goop (Gwneth Paltrow's brand) themed Birchbox or a regular one with a "transformation" theme. I chose the regular box...and this is what I got!

1. Viva La Juicy La Fleur perfume sample with atomizer .05 fl oz- $70 for 2.5 fl oz. So my sample is worth $1.4
2. Jour Lip Enhancer Conditioning Treatment .07 fl oz - $14 for .33 fl oz. Mine being worth a little under $3.5
3. the Balm Mary lou-manizer (highlighter) 1 gram - $24 for 8.5 grams. The sample is worth $2.82
4. Vitivia Pro:Vitamin (Vit A, C and E capsules that you open and put on your skin) 6 capsules - $55 for 28. My sample is worth $11.8
5. Protein Luna Bar - $15 for 12, so mine is $1.25

Total Value: $20.77
Paid: $10.00

My thoughts: While I did get a higher value than what I paid, half of it came from the vitamins, which to be quite honest seem like a waste. I have a B.S. in Nutrition and the only vitamin that actually works on the skin is E, which I got 2 of. I am not interested in the lip product, but I'll try it. And the Balm sample is too small to even get my blush and contour brush into.

I'm pretty disappointed with this box, but as long as the value remains higher than what I pay I'll stick with it. It can be hit or miss, but nevertheless it's always fun to get a surprise in the mail and try out new things each month before investing a ton of money into them. For this reason I'm excited to try out the perfume and highlighter since these are things I normally splurge on if I like them enough.
